Europe closes higher ahead of US Fed decision
Major stock exchange indexes closed higher on Wednesday as investors were preparing for the United States Federal Reserve's newest decision on the key interest rates amid insecurity about whether the institution will raise them at all or not. Meanwhile, the British parliament voted in favor of Prime Minister Rishi Sunak's upgraded Brexit deal with the European Union on Northern Ireland.
The DAX closed 0.19% higher as Zalando SE expanded by 2.47%. The FTSE 100 went up by 0.43%, with B&M European Value Retail SA garnering 2.09%. The CAC 40 increased by 0.25%. as L'Oreal SA collected 2.17% The Eurostoxx 50 advanced by 0.37%, with ENI S.p.A. grossing 2.51%.
The euro grew by 0.23% against the dollar to sell for $1.07922 at 5:28 pm CET. At the same time, the pound sterling gained 0.12% against the greenback to go for $1.22316.
