US closes higher as data-packed week starts

Stock exchanges on Wall Street wrapped up the first trading session of the week with gains as market participants locked their attention on the upcoming data releases, including the inflation report in the United States.

In addition, JPMorgan Chase, Wells Fargo, BlackRock, and Citigroup will post their second-quarter financial results on Friday.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average surged 0.63% or 211 points as Intel Corporation jumped 2.79%. The Nasdaq 100 gained 0.06% with Zscaler rallying 7.75%. The S&P 500 rose 0.24% as Wynn Resorts Limited soared 5.69%.

At 3:55 pm ET, the euro rose by 0.21% to sell at $1.09987, reaching the highest level against the dollar in almost three weeks.
