10-year Treasury yield highest since 2007

Yields on United States Treasuries rose on Monday with the yield on the 10-year note reaching the highest level since 2007 as investors awaited the Jackson Hole symposium at which Federal Reserve officials, including Fed Chair Jerome Powell, are set to speak later in the week.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note was up 9.7 basis points to 4.348% at 10:28 am ET and the yield on the 2-year note added 5.8 basis points to hit 4.994% at the same time. The yield on the 30-year bond increased by 8.7 basis points to 4.466% at 10:29 am ET.

Bond futures, which move in the opposite direction to yields, declined. The 2-year note futures were down 0.09% at 10:19 am ET, the 10-year note futures fell 0.51% and the 30-year Treasury futures dropped 1.13% at the same time.
