Europe closes higher, recovers from losses

Major European stock exchanges closed with higher results on Friday and recovered from the experienced losses of the day after traders seemed to gain confidence after analyzing the latest data on the region's economic growth and the consumer prices in Germany which rose by 6.1% in August, as expected.

At the closing bell, the Euro Stoxx 50 increased 0.38%, with LVMH climbing 2.20%. The FTSE 100 went up 0.49% as GsK PLC gained 4.03%. The DAX rose 0.14% with Covestro AG O.N. up 7.81%. The CAC 40 gained 0.62% while Worldline SA improved 3.30% at the same time.

The euro improved by 0.17% against the dollar at 5:29 pm CET, selling for $1.07149. Also, the pound traded flat compared to the US currency to go for $1.24770 at the same time.
