Trump: Auto industry future will be made in US

Former United States President Donald Trump promised at a rally in Clinton Township, Michigan, that the future of the automobile industry will be "made in America."

Trump wondered why companies such as the Ford Motor Company and the General Motors Company (GM) conceded so easily to President Joe Biden's plan to electrify the industry as electric vehicles (EV) "don't go far" and are expensive to make. He then went on to claim that it is a part of Biden's plan to transfer work and jobs to China.

Trump insisted that "from day one," if re-elected in 2024, his administration will make the US the center of the automobile industry in terms of production, sourcing, design, and fueling.
