US markets close mixed after PMI data

Markets on Wall Street ended Friday's shortened session mixed after the latest preliminary PMI data, which showed the activity in the United States private sector was unchanged in November compared to the previous month. Investors also remained focused on the Israel-Hamas conflict in the Middle East as a four-day ceasefire began earlier in the day and the two sides exchanged hostages.

The Dow Jones rose 0.33%. The best performer was Johnson & Johnson, whose stock climbed 1.11%.

The S&P 500 increased by 0.06%, with CF INdustries Holdings jumping 2.55%.

The Nasdaq 100 lost 0.12%. Nvidia, down 1.93%, led the losses after Reuters reported the company delayed the launch of a new artificial intelligence chip in China.

The euro added 0.31% against the dollar to sell for 1.09398 at 12:59 pm ET.
