Over 80 protesters killed in Myanmar - report

More than 80 people have been killed during the military crackdown of anti-coup protests in Bago, Myanmar over the past day, Myanmar Now news outlet reported on Saturday.

The city has reportedly suffered the country's highest death toll in the protests since the military took control of Myanmar in early February. Bago's residents were fleeing the city to seek refuge in nearby villages, according to local media reports.

Earlier in the day, forces described by the media as "ethnic armed groups" who oppose the military junta attacked a police station in Shan State and killed over 10 officers.
