Palladium jumps over $1,500 per ounce

Palladium jumped over $1,500 per ounce on Wednesday, hitting its highest level since March 27 as the precious metal continues its strong performance. Sales of new cars in the European Union moved higher on an annual scale in May after eight consecutive monthly drops. The report was especially beneficial for palladium.

The metal used in automobile catalytic converters climbed 1.24% to $1,500.24 per ounce at 3:06 pm CET.

Gold fell 0.19% to $1,344.16 for one troy ounce at 3:08 pm CET, while silver lost 0.10% to $15 per ounce. At the same time, platinum gained 0.08% to $804.3 per ounce.
