Russia to send 'unpleasant' signals to US

Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov (pictured) said on Monday the Kremlin would send "a number of unpleasant signals" to the United States ahead of the June 16 summit between presidents Joe Biden and Vladimir Putin.

Earlier, Biden said that he would bring up the issue of alleged human rights abuses with his Russian counterpart in Geneva next month. "I'll be meeting with President Putin in a couple of weeks in Geneva, making it clear that we will not stand by and let him abuse those rights," the US president explained.

Other topics expected to be discussed between Biden and Putin at the summit include the coronavirus pandemic, climate change and regional conflicts.
