S. Korea calls for Russia's help in inter-Korean talks

South Korean Unification Minister Lee In-young (pictured, right) described on Monday the "three-way cooperation" between Seoul, Pyongyang, and Moscow is one of the key factors to solving the crisis in the Korean Peninsula and asked Russia to play a "more constructive role" in the negotiations.

"I am confident that consistent efforts on such a small-scale approach could lead to the time of trust and faith. In this process, cooperation from the international community, especially from Russia, is a must," Lee In-young said.

Back in 2019, Russian President Vladimir Putin backed North Korea on the matter of denuclearization, saying it "needed security guarantees" to do so.
