Stimulus plan shouldn't be delayed further - Gentiloni

European Commissioner for Economy Paolo Gentiloni expressed his concerns on Thursday regarding the timely delivery of an agreement on the coronavirus stimulus plan, after the European Union's recent failure to reach a deal on the budget.

The stimulus plan refers to €750 billion added to the EU budget for the period 2021-27, having the disbursement of the funds linked with commitments to the EU’s core values, known as the "rule of law." This connection has created reactions from Hungary and Poland who have rejected the proposed plan.

Gentiloni appeared to have no worries about the outcome but he pointed out that reaching a final agreement might need days or even weeks.
