Trump: Biden caused worst US inflation in half-century
Former United States President Donald Trump in an answer to President Joe Biden's annual address to Congress said "the real state of the union" is that the current administration is responsible for bringing the worst inflation to the US in nearly half a century.
Trump accused Biden's White House of raising the cost of food and gasoline, as illegal immigration and drugs flood the nation's southern US border. "Drug cartels are now raking in billions of dollars from smuggling poison to kill our people and to kill our children," Trump claimed, noting that he is once again running for president "to end the destruction" of the US and "complete the unfinished business of making America great again."
His comments follow the news that a Trump-era border policy, which allowed federal health authorities to turn away asylum-seekers at the US-Mexico border, will end with coronavirus restrictions in May.
