Trump: We'll insist on denuclearization

United States President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that the US will insist on denuclearization. During his meeting with Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the president told reporters at the White House: "We haven’t been notified at all. We haven't seen anything. We haven't heard anything. We will see what happens."

White House Press Secretary Sarah Sanders told Fox News earlier today that she is "still hopeful" the planned meeting between Trump and Kim will take place.

Earlier on Wednesday, Pyongyang threatened to cancel the planned summit with United States over issue of joint military drills between South Korea and the US. Meanwhile, North Korean Vice Foreign Minister Kim Kye-gwan said that his country will only denuclearize if the US ends its "hostile policy and nuclear threats and blackmail."
