Turkey told Russia new Syria op not planned - Lavrov

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Wednesday that Turkish officials told Moscow they are not considering a renewal of the military operation in Syria, despite earlier comments from Ankara.

Speaking at a press conference in Moscow, he also revealed that the pullout of Kurdish-dominated forces from the area is "almost complete."

Earlier this month, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan warned that Ankara could decide to resume the "Peace Spring" operation in northern Syria "if the region is not cleared of terrorist organizations," with Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu reiterating the possibility of such action.
