UK to offer third vaccine shot to people over 50 - report

The United Kingdom will reportedly offer a third coronavirus vaccine shot to people aged 50 and over in the fall, according to The Times newspaper.

Two candidates are currently in trials and are specifically modified to tackle new variants of the virus using one of the three versions approved in the country.

Britain has so far green-lighted three vaccines for use, all of which are given in two doses. The inoculations include the one developed by Pfizer and its partner BioNTech, as well as AstraZeneca,'s and Moderna's jab.
