Unilever picks Hein Schumacher as next CEO

Unilever plc announced on Monday it appointed Hein Schumacher as its next CEO, stressing he will assume the role on July 1.

Schumacher, who currently serves as CEO of the global dairy and nutrition business Royal FrieslandCampina and non-executive director at Unilever, will succeed Alan Jope as CEO after a one-month handover period.

"We are delighted to welcome Hein as our new Chief Executive, after an extensive, global search process. Hein is a dynamic, values-driven business leader who has a diverse background of experiences and an excellent track record of delivery in the global consumer goods industry," Unilever Chairman Nils Andersen stated.
