US: Military drills on Korean Peninsula 'suspended indefinitely'

Major military drills on Korean Peninsula are "suspended indefinitely," AFP reported on Thursday, citing the United States official. Meanwhile, a report from MSNBC stated that the Pentagon is preparing a formal guidance to suspend the upcoming drills with South Korea.

Earlier today, South Korean President Moon Jae-in said his country would consider halting military operations with the United States if North Korea follows through on its promise to denuclearize. Following his historic summit with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un, US President Donald Trump told reporters he would suspend the "war games" with Seoul as relations with North Korea normalize.
