US trade deficit rises to $74.6B in April
The United States trade deficit in goods and services increased in April to $74.6 billion from the revised March figure of $60.6 billion, according to a report by the US Census Bureau and the US Bureau of Economic Analysis on Wednesday.
The deficit growth reflected an increase in the goods deficit of $14.5 billion to $96.1 billion and an increase in the services surplus of $0.6 billion to $21.6 billion. Exports decreased by $9.2 billion from March to land at $249 billion. Imports rose by $4.8 billion month-on-month to $323.6 billion.
