US up premarket following sell-off

Equities on Wall Street traded higher in the premarket session on Monday, as investors were hopeful for the week ahead. The United States Food and Drug Administration commented over the weekend that it may streamline Omicron-specific vaccine approval, as Dr. Antony Fauci noted that Pfizer's oral COVID drug may retain its effectiveness against the strain.

In politics, US President Joe Biden signed a bill to keep the government funded until February, as he advocated for his Build Back Better agenda in the hopes that his social spending package will pass.

The Dow Jones gained 0.79% at 4:27 am ET, while the Nasdaq 100 increased 0.50% at the same time. The S&P 500 rose 0.65% a minute later. The euro declined 0.15% against the dollar to trade for $1.12920 at 4:28 am ET.
