US wholesale inventories up 0.1% in October

United States Census Bureau reported on Friday the country's wholesale inventories increased by 0.1% in October compared to the previous month to total $675.6 billion. Versus the same month last year, total inventories rose 3.8%.

Sales of merchant wholesalers, adjusted for seasonal variations and trading-day differences but not for price changes, were $494.3 billion, or 0.7% lower on a monthly basis and down 1.4% year-over-year.

The ratio between inventories and sales for merchant wholesalers was 1.37, which was an increase on October 2018's ratio of 1.30.
