US wholesale inventories up by 0.8% in October

Wholesale inventories in the United States for October, adjusted for seasonal variations but not for price changes, increased by 0.8% to $652.1 billion compared to the month before, the US Census Bureau said in a release on Friday. On an annual basis, the figure increased by 6.9%. Sales of merchant wholesalers, excluding manufacturers' sales branches and offices, amounted to $510.1 billion, marking a 0.2% increase compared to September, the report said.

Annually, sales of merchant wholesalers recorded a 6.8% increase. The ratio between wholesale inventories and sales stood at 1.28 in October, unchanged compared to the same month last year.
