Walmart to deliver 10-13 million vaccines monthly

American retail company Walmart has released a statement on Friday, saying that it will be increasing COVID-19 vaccine supply to offer 10-13 million doses per month at full capacity level. As supply and demand for coronavirus shots grow, Walmart will be offering vaccination seven days a week and through scheduled appointments in clinics and at community events.

"Walmart and Sam’s Club operate more than 5,000 pharmacies in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, many of which serve underserved communities and the heart of rural America. With 150 million people passing through our doors each week, we’re in a unique position to reach people where they already shop," says the official statement of the company.

Walmart is already vaccinating essential workers in New Mexico and Arkansas, where it is headquartered. As of next week, it is planned to expand vaccination in seven more states - Georgia, Indiana, Louisiana, Maryland, New Jersey, South Carolina and Texas.
