Yoon does not want N. Korea status quo changed by force

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol insisted on Wednesday that, while Seoul cannot guarantee the safety of South Korea's regime, "neither I nor the Republic of Korea government wants the status quo changed unreasonably or by force in North Korea."

Yoon also clarified his comments about South Korea's willingness to provide economic aid to the North if it agrees to denuclearize. "Talks between the leaders of the South and the North and talks and negotiations between key working-level officials should not be a political show but helpful to the actual establishment of peace on the Korean Peninsula and in Northeast Asia," he said, according to Yonhap.
